Love is Eternal

I'm holding on to this idea... Love is eternal. Love is all that is... the primordial sea of existence and what we are all made of. We are from love. It binds us together and draws us forward, animating us and forming us...breaking us down and rebuilding us...destroying us and recreating us...until we bear loves marks like mountains show the wear of their millions of years pushed by the forces of fire within the earth, and carved by the persistence of wind and water.
Even with all this, we persist in pretending that we are from anything else. We cling to false origin stories of emptiness and ambition, convinced of the necessity of self preservation by any means necessary, and far too easily swayed to the lie of satisfaction through excess and rainy day funds. "More" is the echo we force into the canyon of our hearts as we employ our best efforts in supplanting our true heritage. More power, more influence, more control, more ownership, and more insulation from anything that would remind us that "more" has only ever been the cry of the imposter...the ego that would have us at the center of the universe, alone and dead on the pretend throne of everything.
I wish love was always obvious, but It's often subtle, whispering until it shouts in moments that demand it. It isn't always sweet and beautiful. It's sometimes terribly mystifying in its plain audacious power. Love is rarely sensible, but rather makes its own brand of sense that confounds all who would dare define it or saddle it for their own purposes.
Love rolls the great wheel of the universe and is also its road. Love is at once where we begin and our destination. Love is the journey and love can never be left behind.
In the end, however you define it, love will be all that's left. Today, I'm holding on to the idea that I can choose to align my heart with this ultimate reality, even though my experience of daily life might contradict it. You can do that too, and I believe we make a difference in the world when we choose to do so.
