Miracle of Miracles; All is Miracle

The world is full of miracle. It’s strange that our experience of something so elemental and obvious can be so heavily subject to our perception. What eyes do we use to see the world around us? Do we allow the preciousness of our hearts to be exposed to reality, no matter how brutal or beautiful, or do we shut those parts of us down after repeated painful exposure?

I don’t think there is any end to the miracle of being alive. I don’t mean just this singular life you’re living now. I’m also talking about the echo of life that spreads out in concentric spheres, in all directions and through all times. Everything we see every day has some place in the miraculous fabric of existence, and if we look with eyes which are driven by the vulnerability of our hearts, even the mundane starts to sparkle with infinite promise. The feel of the ground under bare feet…the chill in the air as it caresses your face…the stillness that surrounds you when you find a quiet moment…the sense of home you get around loved ones…all of it simple and miraculous.

Relax into the basic miracle of your life today. Breathe as many deep breaths as it takes to reconnect with your heart…then look around you with those heart eyes that show the sacred, miraculous nature of what you see. It might take time and practice, but cultivating this perspective can change the way you experience life as a whole.
